I have my eye on the Roadrunner 'two from the vault' pack of Gorguts' two albums "Considered Dead" and "The Erosion of Sanity".

What I want to know is basically a description of what these two albums are like. What other bands do they sound like, how "technical" are they, what's the production like, vocals, drums....I want to know whether I should go ahead with these two.

I have 'Obscura.' I saw that compilation in a store today and assumed they were demos, since I didn't recognize the names. But turns out those are their first two albums. I'll definitely pick it up.

Considered Dead is classic old school death metal. Not technical but great riffs, executed great for early 90's death metal. Erosion of Sanity is a step forward from 'Considered Dead' still remaining the oldschool death metal edge. The band gets more expirmental, technical with that album but not to the extent of say Obscura or From Wisdom to hate. Erosion of Sanity is my favorite Gorguts.
