Granada Suite Hotel........

Yeah, I called, and I already booked all 4 weekends in September! The beauty of cancelling at any time prior to arrival. You gotta do what ya gotta do Mo. I requested my room to be next to Evergrey's. The guy at the hotel said "TIGHT" :Smokin:

How did that happen??? I have heard stories about them from the previous 2 PP shows; however, I stayed there 2 years in a row, and never had a problem

Well, they gave me a line about "some of our guests have extended their stay, and it's a Georgia law that says they have the right to their room". Personally, I think they were overbooked or that they gave my room to someone else (via a bribe or whatever).

My friend and I met 2 other groups of guys that had also been bumped, so we weren't alone.

They also knocked $50 per night off the cost, so at least I saved a hundred bucks.

Yep, I was one of the ones that got bumped from the Granada for PPUSA 2. I made my reservation in like June and it was guaranteed for late arrival. I also booked it with an AAA discount, so there was speculation that they bumped the ones with cheap rooms. Anyway, they moved me to the Fairfield (after trying to move me to some far away hotel) at my insistance which fortunately had openings that year. Afterwards I called up their corporate number and filed a complaint. They sent me coupons for two free nights. My friend also got screwed over by getting the wrong kind of room, so they gave him one free night, which he gave to me. So then for PPUSA 3, I risked staying there again just so I could use these 3 free coupons. It paid off bigtime since I was able to use the coupons for a free stay that year!

Other than that, it was a nice hotel and I enjoyed my stay there the next year.

Yup - group 2 of said guys here... hehehe

the other good part oof being bumped (although ticked us off) aside from the $50 a night discount was we were 2 blocks away from the Hooters and Hard Rock Cafe. :)

They told us the same thing.. guests didn't check out and we had to move.

I personally think it's crap because I doubt 'said guests' had their reservations made since July 1st like I did.

---start edit---
man, next time I file a complaint as well - good move

The Grenada was a very nice hotel. But why are we all assuming the next Progpower show will even be in Atlanta, let alone in the same venue as the last show? Remember what Glenn said-- wait until the announcement is made. He mentioned the possibility of a different city this year, and at the very least, a larger venue.

Something to consider...

what are some of the hotels in walking distance and do any of these have websites? I too plan on making my first trip to the mighty progpower fest:):)

All the info will be on the website once Glenn has announced the festivel.
