Personally I found it to be wannabe ItW and the follow-up was better, but JttEotN was hardly a bad album.

Seconded. I haven't been listening to it a lot and ended up trading it away for some Godspeed YBE!
I envisioned the album as a recycling engine for Botteri's average riffs he wouldn't put into Woods..., but it's harsh judgement. For one thing it's doomier and it certainly has its own personality.
