Somewhere in the sands of time
Hailing from the SF Bay Area of N. California and featuring both female and male vocals, Mindcage have become well known in the international underground as an extremely promising US Melodic/Progressive Metal outfit following the year 2000 release of our EP, Encapsulation.

The band also bears the proud distinction of being well known in Europe as pioneers of the "New Wave of American Prog-Metal". It has been quite a ride on that debut disc, with the acclaim and sales in Germany and other European markets and we are quite humbled by it; we hope we can tour behind the next one.

Although our music appeals to a broad spectrum of people, we've found that fans of Mindcage are usually also fans of Pain of Salvation, Queensrÿche, Accept, Queen, Rush, Savatage, Iron Maiden, Crimson Glory, Fates Warning, MSG, etc.

The band always strives to create powerful and progressive music that compliments thought-provoking subject matter and compelling imagery. Our upcoming release, entitled Charting the Unseen (featuring album art by Matthias Noren www.progart.com), will be no exception. It will have all bases covered, from ultra-progressive to atmospheric, symphonic, acoustic, and even some straight-ahead melodic rock.
Sample mp3s (rough and unmixed!!) are now posted on our page.

Ultimate Metal is a fantastic forum hub...thank you for giving us a place to introduce ourselves.
