Growling lessons on Conan?

I don't have myspace while i'm at work, its blocked, but if this is the same girl i THINK you're talking about, yeah, she's the real deal...gave vocal lessons to Randy Blythe(lamb of god) and I THINK howard Jones, and a bunch of others...there was just an article about her in the new times not long ago
 
ive got the dvd sitting in my room... havent practiced anything from it though, its mostly screaming actually, didnt learn any cool growl stuff from it.
 
Yeah I saw a clip on you tube that has like a camera in her throat. Felt like I was watching a hardcore extreme porn. But yeah she was like "this is what I don't want my student to do" And she did a high metal growl like at the gates style. So probally, no matter what some type of vocals just arn't good for your throat, but if it sounds awesome, fuxx it.

Weird... I want a vid clip of what this beotch can do, and what she says not to do... just cuz Im wondering what an "expert" says about it... its too weird... lol
 
She was interviewed on the discovery channels, " daily planet" and also on much musics "the new music"...

She has some good technique and yeah, she does teach alot of bands how to scream and growl
 
ok I just typed out a bunch of shit, then it logged me out and I lost it. I donwloaded this and watched most of it. Allot of the practice and warm-up methods are pretty good. They work well.

The lady doesnt actually growl like a badass or anything. She just instructs you on how to better warm-up and practice that shows quick results in controling your vocals more efficiently. I have used some of these methods before, but others I never would have thought of. Like doing jumping jacks while growling with each jump. Now with all vocal things like this its best to do them alone, cuz you will probably feel stupid doing them in front of others.

But I would recomend all the training methods she teaches to everyone. Even if you dont sing melodicly you should still do the training for it. The skill in hitting clean notes does transfer over to screaming and yelling. Your ability to scream is really just a distortion of your clean vocal range, so if you have no good foundation of hitting clean notes then you are less likely to pull off some badass screaming/yelling. Well thats my opinion anyway. I think it makes scence.

dayumn im not trying to be sexist either, but chicks growling in my opinion is weird, if i only heard arch enemy i probably would have thught it was a guy
