My oh my this game is twice as addictive as Vice City.

The action is top-notch and there is a alot more variety in the missions. Rockstar has taken gameplay from other titles and used them here, such as the stealth from Manhunt, and the racing from Midnight Club.

The soundtrack is so-so, the graphics are top-notch, and even though I do enjoy the storyline and characters, some people might be turned off by the whole hoods/gangstas aspect.

Not to mention the game is fucking HUGE! It'd probably take me a year to go through every nook and cranny of San Andreas to find all the secrets.

I know I'll be in the minority here but I really can't get into it. For some reason the story doesnt interest me like Vice City did. It all seems to stereotypical. It's fun...I'd just rather play Star Ocean right now.

Whats up with the horrible character models? The city looks great but the characters look straight out of a PS1 game. I do have to admit, the game is huge from what I played. If I ever get into it it, it'll probably kill many hours.

They're not the greatest, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that they're horrible.

I noticed that when the bikini girls walk by, their tits jiggle realisticly.

One thing that kinda bothers me, is that it's a lot harder to earn money. I'm almost done with all the Los Santos missions and so far only one or two of them have rewarded me with money in addition to respect.

the motion of the models is actually really good, but the skins of the characters look weak IMO. The rest of the city itself looks gorgeous though.

Yeah I always seem to lose my money because I start fights in the street than get A) killed or B) arrested.

I heard they had to make the skins kinda crappy so the game would run better..heh i'm not surprised, not to mention the process of loading the game..
Either that..or they didn't have the time..oh yea my friend Patrick is working for Gearbox Software, he's the level designer, tells me Brothers in Arms is looking good.

Fun game but I really wonder sometimes. First off all, what's with these dance dance revolution, gitaroo man, parapper type mini-games? They're not your typical GTA fair and with reason. Fuck I hate those.

And has anybody seen that stunt plane looking thing flying overhead sometimes? I was on a mission today and running up a large hill when suddenly a plane (probably the stunt looking one, it's the only one I seem to see flying around anyway) crashed right in front of me on the top of the hill, exploding and causing several other explosions. I was killed of course. The interesting thing, I don't think this was scripted. Surprises abound.

Yeah I was thinking as I was playing that it was easier to put up with Vice City's radio station as opposed to SA's. Maybe its the overdose of rap and hip hop but I just cant stand having the radio on...

And another thing. In Vice City, if you were busted or wasted while on a mission, there would be a taxi waiting outside to drive you back to the start of the mission you were on. Not this time around, though.

BASTARDS!

Go bet on horse races. Bet everything you have (just keep clicking the buttons to keep adding to the bet) on the purple horse but in increments. He seems to win most for me. With his odds as poor as they are, you'll gain back and more anything you just lost. Or bet everything at once and just keep loading your game if you don't mind that.

Another way I found is to participate in the Racing Tournaments. $10,000 for first place finishes.

On a side note: Am I the only one who thinks flying an airplane in this game is ridiculously hard!?!?

na na na-na na. :p I'm 93.80% through. The hardest mission i reckon was the one near the start on island 1 where you have to gun the people off the moving train, it took me 2 days before i finally did it! The final mission takes the piss, it's not hard enough and automatically saves which stage you're at if you die during it.

Incidently i have a little tip for you lot. I dunno at what stage of the game the tank is unlocked, i only bothered looking for it when i'd finished all the missions, but it's in the area just under the airfield you acquire on the map, the army area thingy on the 3rd island.

Take the pcj600 you find next to the water tower at the strip, drive it south and round to the far side of the army compound, you'll find a fence there that you can drive through. There's 2 or 3 hangers in there, i think it's 3, the two furthest ones both have tanks in them. Don't bother stealing the Harrier jets cos if you've finished the missions then you've already got one. Jump in a tank, drive out the way you came in, go cross country north back to the airstrip and drive it into the large hanger. You'll have FBI vans chasing you, so don't get shot when you get out, blow em all up if you want, but if you're lucky one or two will follow you into the hanger. Sprint back to the abandoned AC tower and save the game. You've lost your wanted level and your tank is where you left it in the hanger! :)
If you had the FBI follow you into the hanger when they were after you, then you'll find one of their rancher's in there too. ;)

I STILL haven't gotten past the flight school! So I had been spending most of my time roaming around looking for the cars to export, while at the same time looking for the snapshots in San Fierro, and the tags in Los Santos.

Lately I haven't been playing it all now that I'm hooked on Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal.
