hey penguin, i came up with this solo passage that you should practice really slow that will help you develop quite a few technique like legatto, sweeping and string skipping. At all times mute the strings you are not playing on with your picking hand. It will take you a few months to get this to a medium speed correctly. I would start with practicing it on the clean channel. it is in d standard tunning, you can play it on any tunning you want, since it doesnot involve the lowest string. It is based on D locrian mode aka 2 minor mode. (i hope i got the mode right), but don't worry, just practice it along with the chromatic lick i showed you and whatever matt shows you and guru tabbed out. that should give you a workout that will require alcohol at the end of the practice session:h=hammer on p=pullof s=slide. About the timming i'll post a recording of it so you get an idea of the timming, next week sometime.
