First of all, .
I'm from Cologne/Germany. Since I heard "Live at Last" in a record store nearby I'm a big fan of you guys!!
Still listening to it for nearly every day :headbang:
Now I wanna learn how to play such great music :p , so my question is: Are there any guitar accords or notes available?

Thx in advance! Maik

I've been trying to find tabs since I picked up Blueprint of the World...no luck yet I just try to play by ear but does not sound as great...I think they are overdue for a tab book to be printed ;)

so it's tabs, right?! :D

that would be great! I've been searching for lyrics as well with slight success - only these in the live at last booklet. better than nothing... ;)

btw why are there so little replies?

Maik

Thank you for writing and for the words of support. We really appreciate that and I am glad you like Live at Last and the bands music so much.

Hey we are not aware of any tabs ? I have not heard of anything like that for our music. I am sure there are some out there somewhere?

I don,t think we have reached that status just yet :Spin:

Thanks again for the post! :headbang:

NP : New Moon! us ( one of Doug best solos! )

i think the best way to learn songs is put in the cd and put the song on repeat for hours until your ears bleed :zombie: that seems to work or take the easy way out and hire someone

I found out that watching the DVD is a real help. I had a hard time finding out what Doug is playing on the older songs (from Time Lost and Blueprint). Now that I can play the DVD in my PC I figured out almost any song... except the solos so far.hehe.

Yes.... I'm too lazy to write it down. Maybe tomorrow. :)

Thanks for your help!! :)

Powertabs helped quiet well!
I'm learning with a good friend of mine, who played the guitar for about 11 years now.
But I think I probably will start with this song after the holidays.

btw I love this forum ;)

Hey guys this pretty cool you are so interested in tabs for our stuff.

I will check this one out DTrule, thanks for sharing this one. Hey another option for any of you learning material, especially gnarly stuff is the Tascam CD-BT1 Portable CD Bass Trainer

I use this to figure out all kinds of stuff, you can loop tough parts slow down tempos etc etc. It is small and fits right in the case, I used this on tour last year to go over parts a lot in beetween shows. It is really cool for figuring out the parts I have forgotten over the years as well.

They make one for guitar vocals etc as well.

Thanks for the post and support Chop, keep at it!

You guys rule!

no, it is both for bass and guitar :)
And it ain't even half bad, man! Good job. :) The bass in the 6/8 parts during the guitar and keyboard solos needs some fixing, I think, but don't ask me to point a finger at it...
(By the way... doesn't Powertab include Drop D tuning? Enchant bass tabs look a little weird with 6 strings.)

Good ear

Those parts are kind of jacked up, and the slap break and a few other things are a little whacky,

I don,t play a six just the Kubicki with the drop d. I am in D a lot actually. I am pretty sure I used it on that one, I have not played that song in ages so I don,t recall the whole thing off the top of my dome.

The slap solo sounds right to me... isn't it like this?

Code:
G ----------------
D ----------------
A 35--5-3535--5-35
D --00-0----00-0--

By the way, Ed... do you use the Kubicki's D/E tuning switch during a song sometimes?

Actually this looks correct, good job, the other 6/8 parts are just triad based scales that move around , it is not real difficult, this is a guitar song all the way.

Hey I do use the drop D swich quiet a bit, for example in Below Zero I go down to Ef which I love down low. The solo section of Missing is another example going from E to low D during the guitar / key duel. Nice ear man.

Kubickis are amazing, I am getting a key five soon, and should be on Phil Kubickis artist page soon.

Hows that for a plug.............

Sadly, my ear, which I don't think it that good yet, has got close to nothing to do with asking this. I just thought it would be kinda retarded not to use this special feature of the bass... unfortunately, it doesn't make tabbing out or playing Enchant songs any easier. :erk: ;)

Here comes another question: when playing live, you use that Fender J with the tortoise shell pick-guard for some songs (e.g. "Paint the Picture", if I'm not mistaken)... for what purpose? Because of a special tuning or something like that? Or just because of its vintage sound?
(By the way, big thanks for your help so far... greatly appreciated!)

Actually your ear is pretty damn good. And your dead on picking that up, and yes that feature is great on the Kubicki, although you can use a Hipshot as well on another bass, it just changes the tuning a bit, where as the Kubicki allows you to stay true on the e ( dropped D ) string, and gives you E and Ef way down low. It is cool but a 5 or 6 is probably better for that. I just find most of those to be a bit (wobbly) and...... I am old school whan it comes to bass and four strings. ala Stanley Clarke, Geddy Lee, Jaco, Mark King, Chris Squire, etc ect. I had a Fender Five I used on the Time Lost disc that I wish I still had ( Ted has one actually ) A deluxe model. However the Fender 5s are a bit loose for me.

The other bass you asked about is the Geddy Lee artist bass I picked up a few years ago and have used on the majority of the last few discs. It records amazing and sounds huge live. I used it Live on Paint the Picture, the Thirst and Oasis. I also used it at Cal Prog when we did Tempest Fugit through a Flange and it sounded incredible.

I am going to use it even more in the future because it has an amazing grit or raw sound as well. I think it sounds like I Ric 4001 which I grew up using. So yes not only is it vintage but has more of a gritty rock sound.

Hey thanks for asking man anytime.
