guitar amp placement

hey , i've read lots about acoustic treatment for drums etc. just wondering if anyones got any tips for placement of your guitar amps, or if there's any special treatment you use when recording your guitar tracks,,,

i was just watching the making of the black album the other day and saw what bob rock built for the amps when recording sad but true rhythms

is there any cool ideas out there too try? or do you just plug in and go for it?

Depends on the room, I've been known to raise the cab off the floor a couple of inches (I've got a platform I built for this) when I need to reduce low end resonance.

Wanna remind us what he did?

They built a small "room" out of some form of cardboard if I remember. Then James played just the low note of Sad But True (powerchord D) using that setup. The result was a very crackly and evil sounding ÖÖÖÖÖÖK! (heh)

There's a sound clip of it somewhere. James tests the setup and does DÖÖÖÖ - DÖ - DÖ hähääää
