I've decided for the v that i'm building , that I want a mahogany body , and an ebony fretboard . Supposedly a walnut neck sounds great with an ebony fretboard , but I do not know what walnut sounds like .

I know that mahogany has a warm , fatter sound to it , but how would a neck wood with bright tone sound with it ?

well. . maple is the most common wood for necks, go to GC and find one with that combination. . .and play it. .

warm and bright with a fat sound? Tis a good question. I will also be looking into building my own guitars starting later this year. I am gathering the info now, and come September, hopefully will have my own shop space. The key after that is getting the right tools.
