I'm almost positive there's been a topic on this before, but I didn't see it again, so I'll ask. Does anyone know of any specific amps and/or effects that come close to the In Flames guitar sound? I'm quite curious.

pst.. everlostindeadeternity... this is what an on topic thread is. take note

Yes, it has been posted 2 billion times. From what I can tell via studio pics and live.

Gibson Les Paul Custom (EMG's)
Gibson Explorer Voodoo (EMG's)

Amps
Laney VH100R (live and studio)
Peavey 5150 (live and studio)
Engl (just recording, never seen them play live with this amp)

EMG's, makes all the difference to get that note definition.

Maybe a marshall Governor pedal or some type of overdrive pedal on the front end of the 5150, and various other pedals.

No known effects. Just studio additions.

Cheers,

Naw, Jespar used an ESP Explorer and some wierd looking guitar (Look on the bottom-right corner on the last inside page of the Tokyo Showdown CD booklet where everything is tinted green), both presumably with EMG pickups for everything up to The Tokyo Showdown.

Nowadays I believe he uses a Gibson.
