Guitar killswitch

Wanting to put a killswitch on my emg loaded guitar. Should it go like this,
lead to output jack>switch>output jack. Someone help me out here please

I assume that's where you'd put it, but wouldn't it need some kind of buffering to get rid of any audible 'pop'? Do you just want to mute the output between songs? Why not just use a tuner pedal or volume pedal?

on mine i used a spdt switch switch, when the pickup is on the connection is just the pup, wired to the switch, wired to the output, and in the off position just wire the other pole to ground. i have no issues with pops or noise with this setup!
