I just started getting into production and whatnot yesterday. I've been meaning to start for a while so I just figured I'd give it a go. I got some good drum samples from many of you (thank you!) and found some good guitar impulses and vsts. When I did drums, I just imported midi files into Reaper and added samples with my vst. Is it possible to do this with guitar? I got some guitar vsts but it's not working like it did with drums. I don't have an interface yet so I just want to get my ideas into some sort of demo format until I can get one. Thanks!

impulseable? You´re probably looking for a sampler to play your midi, not impulses. They´re usually vsti, and probably sound like shit unless you do extreme midi editing with those dedicated guitar sample libraries.

there´s a rock guitar instrument in kontakt 5 free player, it´d probably sound like crap when trying metal stuff on it, but I guess you could try just to have demo stuff

You know some of those examples sounded pretty decent. The amp sims they had listed that they used are pretty shit so I bet if you reamped that shit it'd sound pretty sick.
Time to get my piano playing brother to write me sick songs.
