Just a quick question. If you have 3 guitars recorded 1 hard left/right 1 center, is having the center guitar slightly lower in volume with a more middy tone the most common configuration? Im just experimenting with guitar volumes at the mo. Really wanting that single thick guitar sound! :)

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Cheers!!

That's what works best with 3 guitar tracks in my experience. The panned ones can be scooped pretty hard too, take Entombed's Clandestine as a great example of such a setup. Matter of taste of course, but the method works indeed - just as you mentioned.

Yeah, I used 4 guitars at first, 2 hard then the others at around 75% but it just made the riffs undishtinguishable due to the pace being pretty fast...(spelling isnt one of my strong points). So ive just gone with the 3 for now.
You advise scooping the mids from the L/R and giving the center a boost?
