I just ordered guitar rig 4, plus the foot controller. Would it be a good thing for me to get a DI or preamp to go in between the guitar and foot controller? Or do you think the foot controller would be enough for a good sound?

The input of the Guitar Rig controller is designed to plug a guitar into--a DI or pre would be redundant. You may actually hear a difference if you use a super-hiZ DI like the Countryman, though.
