Guitar School Presents Thrash Guitar

Anybody remember this? It's from 1993 and I just tried to find my copy in the garage but failed. Dammit! I don't know if I'm getting old or feeling young, WTF.

Anyhow, reason I'm asking is that I've been listening to a lot of Mercyful Fate and Celtic Frost lately. I discovered both those bands because of this magazine, they had a Top 10 Thrash Album list or something. I can remember 6 of the albums, but not the other 4. I remember:

Celtic Frost - Into the Pandemonium
Mercyful Fate - Don't Break the Oath
Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss and Reign in Blood
Metallica - Master of Puppets and Kill 'em All (I think)
four more???

I'm trying to fill in the gaps, unless I already did, and just don't remember what the list entailed! Any help? There's a PIE in it for you if so.

Awesome man, thank you! And that's when I discovered Possessed too, cool. Now to pick up my first Exodus album... in 2013. Better late than never!

That magazine and the Guitar World Heavy Metal special (with the dual interview with Iommi and Hetfield) were my favorite issues as a kid. Sadly, my ex tossed a lot of them, but I managed to hold onto my Thrash issue.

Yeah I saved a box full o' '90s guitfiddle mags, for whatever reason couldn't find this one in it today. No idea if somebody borrowed it or if I unearthed it years back and put it in the I Won't Forget It Here pile.

Either way yes, this issue was definitely a highlight back then for me as well. And still teaching me things 20 years later!

Sweet. Yeah some day you'll get a Box o' Awesome and Hell Mike will get one too.

But I don't know when I'll be cleaning out the garage. There are a lot of magazines, Spawn toys, and Royal Carnage demos out there.

Also several Mazdas, but those are pretty expensive to ship.

I had 15 gallons of used motor oil out there but one gallon spilled, so when I discovered that (a month later) I finally recycled it all.

Yeah most likely. Mike I think I first planned yours a year ago so maybe an early 2015 box!

The plan was to have bought a house by now, which would have forced a garage cleaning, hence multiple Boxes o' Fun for RC. But alas!

Can't find shit. Still looking. See houses in the mountains for 1/3rd the price, twice the size... uggggghhhhh want to live up there. Long commutes can suck it though.

Hey so yeah it's 2016, Jonathan and Mike, please send me your current mailing addresses. I have packages to send to New York and also Japan, so will add Sweden and Tennessee to the pile. All will include Slanderus albums of course, because I am a whore.

I didn't buy a house in the mountains. BUT here is a view of Old Greyback from my backyard. It only takes about 30 minutes to get there from here, and I'm listening to Exodus, plus on my second beer before sundown, so I suppose that life is pretty okay right now.

Pps: I e-shopped for used 4Runners and FJ Cruisers today. The prices for these things are totally absurd.
