Hi all!

I'm looking for some expertise and help regarding guitar setup for producing a black/extreme metal album.

The style is like Dissection, Windir, Naglfar and such. Lots of tremolo picking chords, often over 3-5 strings at 150-200bpm. Tuning is CGCFAD. This is our third album and this time I would like to record guitars myself at home with my new Kemper profiler.

What I would like to know is what experienced engineers think is the best guitar setup for this.
Guitars at my disposal are: ESP M-II (EMG81/81), LTD EC401 (EMG81/60) and a Schecter Synyster (Seymour Duncan Invader).
What I have in mind is EMG81 on rhythm guitars and then Seymor Duncans on the guitars that have most of the melodic chords and leads as those pickups might express the harmonies in the chords better. Open for feedback here!

For amps I like the sound of most high gain amps such as Engl (Powerball and Savage), 5150 and Dual rectifier.

Greatly appreciate anyone who would like to share their thoughts or experiences!
