Guitar?

On various songs such as Advent in the second palm muting part there is a sound behind the palm muting. I was wandering if that's done with a guitar or some other instrument.

It's a hmming noise...i should have been more clear but it bugs the hell out of me cause i have no clue what it is.

Yeah, it's just volume swells, I have them in almost all my songs hehe...

there is an effect on many processors...line 6 calls it a swell...boss calls it slow gear...i'm sure there are others, it can also be done with the volume knob.
