If you want to talk about motivations, then let's do so. It's already been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt numerous times in this topic that the N.R.A. is firmly under the payroll of the gun manufacturing companies in trhe USA, so if you're millitantly pro-gun then you either/or:
*believe all the propaganda that the N.R.A. spews out with it's millions of dollars in advertising.
*already own a gun, which places your motivation firmly within the realm of personal financial self-interest, which obviously holds very little water in any debate about the welfare of society.
At the end of the day being pro-gun just means you're in favor of funding greedy multinational corporations that would do anything to make a quick buck - including selling killing machines to people so they can carry them in their pockets.
By contrast, I don't have any financial self-interest at all, my main interest to avoid the perpetual bloodshed that a lack of gun control inevitably unleashes, as has been shown many times in this topic. I don't have any well-oiled multi-million dollar advertising (propaganda) campaign influencing my thoughts like the gun-nuts do, just common sense and an abhorrence of violence. Furthermore, my view (in favour of very strict gun control regulations) is one shared by the majority of the people on this planet, people that aren't brainwashed by corporations in the country with the biggest gun manufacturers.
Not wanting to see little kids getting killed, maimed, and injured by freely-available killing machines wins against personal financial self-interest regarding killing machines as a motivation every time.
