I know I can just go and do some google search but I value the views of most of you folks.Do you think this guy will help OZZy carry on in decency or is this going to blow?

Well, Gus G. is a fucking awesome guitarist. I've liked almost everything he's put out to date, and most of what Ozzy released on the last 3 albums with Zakk was horribly mediocre (with the exception of a few good songs like Perry Mason).

Plus, Gus can write songs that aren't all Drop-D-Squeal-Fests.

I'll be shocked if Ozzy ever yields another album that is any better then mediocre.

My fear is will Ozzy damage Gus career? I know it's a good money opportunity for him, but frankly besides the money to me play for Ozzy in this day an age is like being part of Metallica :heh:

I honestly don't see this happening. Gus is probably the most talented guitarist Ozzy has had since RR, and I think he will contribute in a positive way (though personally, I think Ozzy is washed up :loco:). I can see Gus doing this gig and then moving on, just another mark on his resume...

Well I do think some of the stuff with Zakk has been run of the mill but I also think Black Rain had some consistency to it.I know studio tweaking enhances vocals to some degree,I'm guesssing Ozzy may no longer be that great live as far as vocal delivery but he still does ok on cd.
From what I'm hearing this may be worth checking out.

Really hope so, I will hate to see his career wasted on a washed up guy. I'm more intersted in anew Firewind album than anything (and I mean anything) Sharon...err, Ozzy can come with :heh:

just saw some youtube clips of ozzy at Blizzcon. A little 9 year old chinese boy jammed on crazy train and IMHO had more stage personality than Gus G. Sure, gus g can shred and is immensely talented, but he just seems that he does not belong in the band.

I wonder of Gus can get Ozzy to work with Fredrick Nordstrom.

If Frederick has some self esteem he will refuse

I talked to Gus the other day and voiced my concerns.. He said that he is NOT giving up Firewind and that this Ozzy gig will only be for a little while, well while it lasts.

I think it will launch Firewind into a more well known band. He is staying in Greece and not moving to L.A. so that says that Ozzcamp is not doing a lot of work right now.

I wonder if the books any good...

OZZY OSBOURNE Says New Album Is A "Cross A Between A SABBATH And An Ozzy Album"

The Rock Radio is reporting:

OZZY OSBOURNE says his upcoming new album, the tenth solo studio effort of his career, will not be called Soul Sucka as first reported. The Prince of Darkness revealed that "When we put that on the Internet none of my fan base liked the title. They were like, 'I can't imagine me walking around the fucking house with the words Soul Sucka on my t-shirt.' So I was like, 'Fuck it. I've got to come up with something else!'" No matter what it's called, Ozzy told us what to expect: "It's very heavy. It's a cross between - it's kind of like a SABBATH/Ozzy album, you know. It's kind of, it wasn't meant to, I didn't plan on doing it but that's the way it unfolded. A lot of it's very, very heavy. I just hope people like it. I love it."

The new set is due out in July, with a fresh title yet to be announced. Ozzy's last solo project, Black Rain, came out in 2007.

Ozzy also confirmed that Ozzfest will return this summer after taking a one-year break but did not reveal whether it would be a one-shot affair like the 2008 edition or go back to its roots as a traveling event. He also plans to head out on his own headlining arena tour next fall.

The new album and tour will introduce guitarist Gus G. (FIREWIND). Ozzy parted ways last year with axeman Zakk Wylde, who has played on every Ozzy album and almost every tour since 1988.

Ozzy's first memoir, I Am Ozzy, arrived in bookstores this week.
