Far Beyond came out when I was a senior in high school, so I just remember cruising around chasing the girls, "experimenting" with acid, pot, and MD 20/20, and listening to that record on like volume 1000. I saw them 3 times on that tour, once with Sepultura and Biohazard at Hara Arena. I saw a rare Pantera outdoor/ampitheatre headline show w/ Prong, and then I saw them at the Riverfront Coliseum w/ Type O Negative and a full scall riot nearly erupted. Good times, good times.

far beyond driven, first album i heard from them and it was such a good kick in the ass,so abrasive and so much power.

i first found out about them when they hit the charts at no 1 in australia and around the world so i thought i would give them a go not knowing what to expect, usually when u hear so much hype it ends up being some watered down trash, boy was i wrong.

Vulgar was the album that got me hooked on Pantera, and they haven't come close to matching it since. I can listen to Vulgar repeatedly, whereas with the other albums, I have to mix it up with other bands in the CD changer, or else I get tired of it.

I can't pick just one. I love them all.
I remember when a friend of mine turned me on to Cowboys From Hell. That album was about a year old when I first heard it and I wondered, "Why haven't I heard this fucking SWEET ASS CD before?"

I'm surprised anyone is voting for "Reinventing the Steel". I just can't get into this album. It has 2 songs I like but the rest are just boring to me. I actually listened to this album today at work and thought "this doesn't even come close to the other albums".

CFH because all the songs kick ass, and Phil actually sings on a couple of songs. Plus he screams his balls off on this album moreso than any other Pantera album(besides Power metal. ;))

I am going to have to go with Vulgar. None of the other albums(although they are ALL very good)can match this Metal classic! I just wish when I see them they would mix the setlist up a bit more! I have seen Pantera about nine times and they have never played anything after "This Love" on that album! I think one time they played the heavy part in "Hollow" but that's about it. I would absolutely love to hear them pull "No Good" out of the archives sometime or something else obscure off that album! Vulgar aside, it would also be cool, if only for that godlike solo, if they would play "The Sleep" off cowboys!

I'm not a diehard fan of Pantera, mainly because I don't really like Phil Anselmo or his juvenile lyrics, but I can't deny that the Abbott brothers are two of the most talented musicians in all of heavy metal. Far beyond Driven is their best IMO, followed by GSTK. However, even FBD has some songs that I will skip over, but the songs that are good, are pure gold (Slaughtered, Shedding Skin, Use My Third Arm, etc.).

Hey, there will be no knocking Anselmos debauched lifestyle on this board! -K- LOL

I have the Sepultura video "Third World Chaos", and they showed various clips from that tour. For instance, in one scene, Phil explained to the crowd that Max had surgery on his knee that same day, and thats why Sepultura couldn't play. Then he introduced Paulo, and he played in on "Walk".

There's also a part in the video where some Japanese reporter was questioning Max about the Knee injury, and Max said, "I don't know the technical term for it.....but it's fucked up."
