Had a friend's studio get flooded.

That sucks, he should get some insurances next time..
Seems like a great site compared to kickstarter.

Not quite sure if this is the best medium for this but, if possible I would like to extend possible help. I have plenty of technician experience when it comes to water damaged electronics, if having gear repaired could be cheaper than replacing it, I for no cost would do anything in my power to repair whatever can really be salvaged. A lot of people don't realize that in most cases water doesn't actually damage much if at all and if it does its usually a fuse or basic power supply based stuff. So if there are any electronics damaged I would love to help.

I will contact you on Facebook, maybe I could get a list of things that are dead.

I'm pledging some money when I can. I also offered the guy use of my space if he is in need of somewhere to work. I don't know if his mac ate it or not, but he said an entire rack of converters and preamps got a shit ton of water dumped on them.

I think Subcat in Syracuse cut him a deal on the use of thier facilities as well. I was offering my space for free. I think he is going to try to work out of his house for a little while and book sessions at Subcat if he can. I'm not sure how bad that cuts into profits, but I know it sucks when shit happens are you are stuck either giving it up for a while until you can lick your wounds and get it together again. I had a mac shit the bed and as a small potatoes operation it was NOT easy to just come up with $1600 for a new machine.

I can't imagine having to replace an entire rack worth of shit.

I never got around to asking him if his bottle was ok (he has a blue bottle).

7000 bucks doesn't sound like a lot though, for studio gear, which is what is being asked on that site. So I guess they got the most important stuff out? Just asking because I really hope so.

Can't imagine how that feels. Hope they'll reach the goal. I might even pitch in next week, things are pretty dry for myself at the moment (not a pun)

Seeing his rack I think he had some stuff like an 1176, distressor a few neve clones and the like. I have no idea if his monitors survived. I actually am not sure how his friend came to the $7k mark, maybe he didn't want to beg for to much?

I honestly don't know. He actually didn't know people were collecting money until later that night when it was going around facebookl.
