Halcyon Way seeks a professional drummer immediately. Our drummer of 5 years has had to leave for personal/family reasons.
You must be willing to play shows whenever called upon, be able to rehearse 1-2 times per week, be familiar with odd time signatures, and be able to learn our material quickly and accurately. We have been offered (but have not yet accepted) two record deals, and our debut record is in mixdown as we speak with James Murphy, formerly of Death, Obituary, and Testament. Estimated release time is 1Q 2007.
Influences for Halcyon Way include the following bands: In Flames, Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Killswitch Engage, Testament, Megadeth, Rush, Galactic Cowboys, Kings X, Dio, & Nevermore.
Our ideal candidate should have the following: Solid meter, Ability to count out odd signatures & play to a click track, Solid double bass chops, Quick learning, Ability to learn the material on their own time, and come to rehearsal ready to throw down, and will be able to play intricate rhythms but also be able to do simple beatdowns when it makes sense.
