Atlanta, GA - Halcyon Way, Atlantas premier metal band is bringing their powerful mixture of heavy, punishing-riffs and infectious melodies to the world of video games. Starting this week, the bands latest release, Building The Towers will be available on the popular Rock Band Network in the format of playable tracks. Through the next few months, fans will be able to down load a track every two weeks. The first track available will be the chunky-riff-infused Desecration Day, to be released on this week, on July 15.
Rock Band Network is a service that allows artists to make their music available as downloadable content to play on the Rock Band videogame series. Halcyon Way is the newest addition to the always-expanding list of artists on the service.
By making our entire album available on the Rock Band Network, we are giving gamers worldwide an opportunity to play their favorite Halcyon Way songs on Rock Band, said guitarist Jon Bodan. Its the first time we bring our music to a new medium and we hope to also expand our fanbase by doing that.
Halcyon Way released Building the Towers in October of 2010, via Nightmare Records (distributed by Sony/RED). The album, produced by Halcyon Way and Lasse Lammert (Alestorm, Svartsot), features the 10 best songs the band has ever written, superb performances by all involved, including new vocalist Steve Braun (formerly of Italy's Ashent) and guest vocalist Pamela Moore (yes, Sister Mary from Queensryche's "Operation Mindcrime"). Topped by a stunning artwork courtesy of Travis Smith (Nevermore, Opeth etc.), the album comes across as nothing but a masterpiece in the making. The band is currently taking a short break due to guitarist Jon Bodans health conditions. Jon was diagnosed with cancer last October and is currently undergoing treatment. At the time being, Jon is in full remission and Halcyon Way is already scheduling their return to the stages. They hope to be able to hit the stages again sometime during the fall 2011 to continue to impress audiences worldwide, bringing their sonic assault to the masses.
