"Halford's Live Insurrection" or "Priest's 98 Live Meltdown"??

I havent heard live 98, but Ill bet Halfords is better. Why? Because the crowd sings along really loudly! :D

Both are great.

'98 Live Meltdown is an excellent representation of Priest live with Ripper, and proves they still have what it takes (as did their show at the Enmore).

Live Insurrection is great, but somewhat cleaned up, with the version of "The One You Love To Hate" patched together from rehearsals and soundchecks rather than in front of an audience. Not that I care that much when I listen to it...

Both Priest and Halford are now separate entities. Treat them as such, and enjoy both albums as such.

At the moment I'd say '98 Meltdown.
Too many crappy Fight and Halford songs on Insurrection.

okey dokey....

Well as most people know i worship halford and the priest..

I heard live 98 being pretty skeptical, I then got my priest tattoo of the new symbol so i pretty much dug it.
Ripper does a great job of the halford stuff on that live one and also on the stack of bootlegs i have. I know he does his own thing quite well but i must say that as an overall singer halford wil always be the better singer and performer live.

however live 98 rules (demoliton is a piece of shit) - just my opinion. It's not priest. rapping in a song is not priest. and if you listen to tiptons solo album you will find similar songs just different keys???

Live ressurection?, well ( live needs to be put in brackets because for the most its not really live as we know it).
The albums sounds fkn great, the versions are fkn awesome, the vocals are the most evil halford has sounded in 10 years.
BUT.
the majority is recorded at soundchecks and days off with the crowd sounds overdubbed.... how does that make U feel?
I was dissapointed especially as I have a copy of the rock in rio with halford and the show is incredible! that could easily have been released....

But maybe this is how everyone does it?

But buy both and make your own judgement.

P.S I though the recent priest show was the most mind blowing thing i have ever fkn seen.

I haven't heard Priest's one, but Halford's is great - I wan't too fussed on the studio versions, but hearing them live was great :)

If you like live (cough) albums, get this one!;)
