Well, with Halloween being a couple days away I thought it might be good fun to list some ghost n' goblins type music that puts me in the spirit!!! I'd love to hear what's stuck in your head this time of year, too!!!

ROB ZOMBIE - Past Present Future - simply a great package. The dvd rocks too!

KISS - can't have enough KISS this time of year in my opinion..but it helps if you have a live show taped so you can watch Gene spit blood. Ain't that what Halloween's all about?

MISFITS - Walk Among Us

SAMHAIN - November Coming Fire

DIO - Last In Line

MOTLEY CRUE - SHOUT @ THE DEVIL - helter skelter does it for me...

And as for DVD's here are a couple good ones:
Night of the Living Dead - scarrrrrry! I watched this for the first time tonight! The original black and white is just way more creepy than anything today

Texas Chainsaw - the opposite...I think the newer version is scarier than the classic! They made it really creepy with the sheriff and the fat woman in the trailer....

Scared To Death - this one really creeps me out...the "sinister pair" especially!

TRICK OR TREAT - cheezy as hell but lots of cool shots of album covers and posters that I'm sure we all used to have!

So let's hear what you all think are some great tunes and movies to get us all in the spirit!!!!!!!!!!

There's not much time left!!!!!!!!!!!

"Barbara....they're coming for you!"
scared as hell!

I've actually made a Halloween themed setlist for a friend's radio show, and here it is:

The Ripper-Judas Priest
Dracula-Iced Earth
Walk In The Shadows-Queensryche
Baptized In Blood-Helstar

Welcome To My Nightmare-Alice Cooper
Black Sabbath-Black Sabbath

I wanna take a few tracks out and make this into a mix.

tedvanfrehley - Great topic! ...and some good choices, too. The Misfits and King Diamond have always been my Halloween favs. I just picked up Dee Snider's Van Helsing's Curse project this week for some more good mood music.

Wicked Child - It's funny, but I chose most of those for the special Halloween Horror Show playlist for my internet radio station, too. (And you reminded me of a few I forgot about).

If you guys want to check it out, take this link: Rakosh Radio. I've got over 15 hours of Halloween and horror-themed metal lined up to start at Noon (EST) on Sunday.

:Smokin:

King Diamond, absolutely. I always like to throw on "The Eye" right around Halloween time as much for the lyrical content as well as the total vibe you get off that album! There are a lot of great moments on that one.

As for other types I often go for a bit darker music during this time of the year because of just the absence of light outside. The leaves changing color, the cloudy, overcast skies really makes it a bit of a doomy atmosphere. For those times I'll put on Solitude Aeturnus, Candlesmass, KD some more, and even though they are not really doomy I'll throw on some older albums from The Gathering. A lot of their stuff is really melancholy-ish and goes well for October-November time of the year.

Excellent thread!

for some reason around Halloween the old punk in me wants to come out. maybe because of the mischief that it inspires. i'll be listening to some Misfits/Danzig, 45 Grave, The Cramps, all while trying to summon the little imps and devils hiding in the shadows.....muhahhhahahahh!
