I have all of my grandfather's jackets and shirts from his time in WWII.

My favorite is a tan battlefield jacket. It has large military buttons, 4 huge pockets, shoulder straps, sargeant stripes on the right sleeve and two large round screw-on medallions of sorts on the collar. One says "US" and the other is the medical symbol like that on Macharius88's avatar. He was sargeant of a medical unit. The most fascinating part is the wicked blood stains all over it.

That's a unique piece of American history in my book. I wear it all the time haha

Beyond that, the U.S. sucks. I'm moving to Germany or Sweden after I graduate in 2 years.

The USA is an amazing country, imo. Coming from Brazil, you clearly see a difference - this place actually works.

And Lady Raatikainen, I don't even know if uptight is the right word. But you know, all the "oohs" and "aahs" Americans love so much - think of Oprah Winfrey's audience. Some people can be so easily impressed or disturbed by really small things.

Um... lemme think of a good word. Can't think of one good adjective... but I do think of rigid, black and white, sheepish. Uptight works for the "being disturbed by little things" part. Everything here is like oil and vinegar, salt and sugar. It's one or the other, one slight difference creates a pedestal or grave for someone or something.
