HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME

Why haven't most o' y'alls add my band yet? :p

And thank you allses. And it was a happy birthday indeed. I went to the city to see Dragonforce (and they put on one hell of a show. :rock:) And then I got drunk with the band who we're playing our next gig with. It was the best birthday ever. :rock:

I didnt want to get into the whole myspace thing, coz i mostly think of goth camwhores when associating it.. I added some pics for this forum coz someone had suggested it.. and then i started getting add requests so it all kind of steamrolled a bit.. anyway, its pretty cool in the end.. good way of getting to know people with similar musical interests..

Myspace should die (except for the band promotions), because it has no purpose other than socially interacting with people that won't amount to anything in this barren, guilt stricken world in which we live. Since we live in this sticken world of guilt, people wont amount to anything interacting socially on myspace, which is the reason why only the band promotions should not die and everything else should be totally obliterated from all existence. Existence is the word that describes how we exist on this guilt stricken wasteland of barreness, which means people wont amount to anything.

Seriously though, it's cool to an extent. I like it as a way of finding bands (band promotion... yes!) and keeping in general touch with people, but i really hate going to a fuckin' movie and hearing the 15 year olds go OMG I'M ADDICTED TO MYSPACE I MET SO MANY PEOPLE!!!!111one!!!
 
I deleted my MySpace account recently. The band pages were good but I didn't like to communicate with others. :D

And not to forget the essential, congratulations to Ptah. :kickass:

I agree, especially about the finding bands part. I also like it for getting more fangirls for my band. :rock:

the thing i hate about myspace is getting horny gross desperate guys who i have nothing in common with trying to add me just because im a chick and happen to live in their vicinity, and they think this automatically means getting a cheap screw. i also hate getting an add request, going to their profile and finding out they are into rap and hiphop etc.. why the hell would they think we would have anything to talk about? i even got one add request that when i went to his profile and saw his other friends..were all big fake breasted hooker/stripper types.. he seemed like a real class act. ugh.. just as i was typing this very statement, i get an add request and an email simply stating "I like pop music!" *shudders*.. my email back was "good for you?"..
 
I totally love how my birthday thread turned into a thread about Myspace.

But the best was once when I got a request from a myspace emo chick, I looked at her profile, and she had Perpetual Burn by Jason Becker playing, so I sent a message saying "Alright, a chick who likes Shred guitar." And then I looked at her favorite bands list and saw a list of shitty emo bands, and I cried because I was misled so badly. Then I sent another message like "I looked at your bands list and cried, 'cause I thought you were into shredd guitar, not gay music." Although I can't remember what she said back.

Hence the hostility in my profile. It's kept the idiots at bay for a while now.
 
yeah mine is fairly hostile as well, i dont know HOW hostile i want to go though because i dont want to scare off potentially cool metal people.. thinking of ugrading it a notch though to stress the point that i only want a certain type of person adding me.
 
i dont think its wise to judge people based on their musical tastes. some of my greatest friends in the world are people who dont even have the slightest idea of what metal is (or they do, but dont like it). At the same time, i've met several metalheads who are complete jackasses and bitches.
oh yea, happy b-day Ptah and Zach.
