Happy birthday, Paul

This is the good stuff, for the Americans not in the know... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kriek

I even sipped a bit of this when in Belgium, pretty tasty. But I think my bandmates are now hooked on it and fast to becoming "girl drink drunks" LOL

And if you link further and further and further, you can find
http://www.lindemans.be/whereToBuy/search/en
You can even drink apple-beer or make "Saddle of rabbit marinated in Kriek Lindemans with two-colour sauce and vegetable tower" and "Belgian Fries"

You know it Larry! The Mrs. is also hooked on the stuff, so finding a store that carries it, and the good stuff even, was great. I have Samantha to thank for the tip on where to find it. I have a big bottle chilling in the fridge as I type.

Arline - I'm sorry for facilitating your husband's alcohol problem.

However, I am not sorry for introducing him to 2girls1cup.

Awesome. The ones like Cantillon are probably more difficult to get into- really sour, but extremely complex beers and really well made. Lindeman's is just way too sweet for me. Kinda like cherry champagne.

Belgian beers are truly divine. Even North American brewers like Ommegang and Unibroue are making some really good Belgian styles, fairly cheap since they're local. New Belgium makes a decent sour beer too- La Folie. I think Lindeman's & Chimay are even at places like Cost Plus World Market.
