That would be much awesomer, it actually means the audience are almost not giving a shit. (if I understood the context correctly) Or it could be someone almost not giving a shit about the audience.

I've heard "ferme ta gueule" to mean "shut you're face" and just did a google translate for "foutage" which came out as "flogging".

I've also been told by a French Canadian my french is so poor I wouldn't be able to hold a conversation in Quebec. She didn't realize my lack of language skills have nothing to do with having to withstand being talked at by a French Canadian.
