Hardcore/grind/punk metal; mix critique request

Hi,

Wrapped this up yesterday. Any thoughts on the mix/production would be much appreciated. Will of course return the favor.

Quick headphone listen:

On the "could be better" side:
- Top-end seems a little harsh
- In the fast parts the bass drum does not cut through too well (in general it does, though)
- Vocals are maybe a tad low and distorted
- The backing vocal for "I am not the enemy" feels a little weird so loud and panned. Maybe double it and turn it down a bit?

On the "I like it!" side:
- Awesome bass sound
- Nice control over the cymbals
- Nice playing

It is not bad at all, for my taste

The vocals are distorted, yes, and that's because I applied distortion to them... I tried without, but that was nowhere near as brutal.

The overriding purpose of the song and mix was to try to achieve a very brutal and loud impression, in the vein of Nails (cf their song "Life is a death sentence") but a little darker.

There is actually rather little compression and limiting going on, believe it or not, but guitars are very loud and there is also a use of reverb serving to boost the chaos further.

Now, all of this is of little worth if it doesn't convey the overall ear raping effect that I am after! Will review and reconsider the elements!
