Please don't ream me! I'm not out to copy tones because that doesn't work BUT haha have any of you had any luck getting a nice melodic hardcore tone with pod or ampsims. Think like Climates, Napoleon, counterparts, and landscapes. I need some sort of starting point. Ive been trying to back the gain of and compensate with a drive but it sounds really weak and I do double track. In case you haven't heard here is an example of what I am looking for. Thanks bros.
oh yea I really really love these dudes.

Here is what I have so far. This is really fucking rough clip. I barely mixed it drums are ss value pack or something it was like $10 I use it for quick stuff. POD bass and POD Guitars double tracked slammed left and right. Im not trying to rip the tone off just get something similar/ good for this genre. What do you think any suggestions? Please help me out.

Use iZotope Ozone to tone match it.

Here's a TDWP tone match I did last night in like 2 seconds.
Find a part in a song that's just guitar and get the EQ curve to it and match it between 50%-80%
Or if you don't want to straight up copy a tone (like you mentioned)
Use iZotope to take a snapshot of the guitar tone eq curve and compare it to your own.
use another eq to try and make it look the same.

When I say 2 seconds what I really mean is 5 minutes to load the song into my DAW, Load the plugins, play the riff, and get the EQ curves.
It's the clicking and typing in 50-80% that takes 2 seconds.
And I mean "make it look the same" if you see a tone you like and you see it has cuts and boosts at certain frequencies, use an eq to give your tone those boosts and cuts.
It won't give an exact copy of the tone, but it'll be in the ballpark.

Is there a way to get ozone free. I use logic so... I'm not totally sure I understand what you are saying. Any opinions on my tone itself? Good or bad? Crits?

That tone is probably too weak :/ match eq can always be tricky because even if you make the eq curve look similar you dont have the same "content". You can shape something clay into a sword shape but wont behave like steel (?) try using the american classic preamp on podfarm and go 40%-50% on it and use the tube screamer obviously. Try the spinal puppet amp (that's my favorite). You can then try match eq-ing it (ozone should have a trial, if not look up some other match equalizer). http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/f-o-h/710368-yt-match-eq-ir-tutorial.html harmonic enhancers can do wonders as ive mentioned before but i struggle with guitar tone so take my advice for what it is :)

So i messed around in podfarm a bit more and idk man i just cant get something out of it i like but I also worked with the recto some more and here is what I got, what do you think? Still unsure about the match eqing but hopefully ill figure it out. I think I have found away to do something similar in logic.
Here is the sound link
guitars are lecto
bass is pod

what harmonic enhancers do you use?

I use the enhancer on pro tools for some stuff (like guitars), very lightly to add harmonics in the mid-highs and smooth them out a bit... mainly though, decapitator (It works great on whatever I throw it on). I wish peopled talked more about them, they take some of the digital harshness away at times and I always wonder what people like joey use (no one's ever asked him that I know).

your turn.
