Has any one heard Route 9?

I got Dan's Subway Mirror and Route 9 cd's and both are good of course. I don't guess that helps much. =) I wouldn't say either is comparable to Dan's other work in terms of bombass-ness. Don't think it's gonna be as good as EOS, Nightingale, or Unicorn. However both are definitley worth buying. Subway mirror is on the lighter "happy rock" side almost like alternative music but has a certain intelligence distinction that makes it good. I guess what separates it from typical alternative is that the music and lyrics are not moronic, it seems to have some meaning. This is always a good thing. Route 9 is Metal for sure, tho not badass evil type a-la EOS or Infestdead. More like....eh...Hmm. He usues two different vocal styles, neither of which I have heard him use before. One style has a very hardcore feel. The music is heavy like I said but not where it rips your guts out, and the typical melodic leads from Dan are there as well as brief euphoric interludes of a synth nature. The music here is better than the vocal style, but I won't complain, what makes Dan my favorite musician is that he can do so many different things and they all sound great! I'll never tire of him.

Route Nine is absolutely amazing in my opinion. Imagine a mixture of EoS' "Song of Sirens" with Nasum and a little Nightingale with an occasional Pan-Thy/Karaboudjan synth moment.

I honestly think the first 4 songs from the ROUTE NINE blow the piss out of his stuff with Edge Of Sanity! They sound so much more inspired, pissed, and his guitar playing is fucking amazing! Definitely order from Dan it you haven't already!

Where did you purchase these cds? I've never heard of Route 9, Steel, or Subway Mirror before. Do I have to buy them from Dan, like the Unicorn cds?

Yes, you can buy the Route Nine and Subway Mirror CD's directly from Dan, and they are well worth the money, especially the Route Nine! As for Steel, I had him burn me a copy of Heavy Metal Machine sometime last year, before he started up his record label, SPAM. I believe he has plans to release this 3-song EP through the label eventually, so keep your eyes open...
