What he is saying is that Hate Eternal's entire point is to be fast and brutal and technical, but (in his opinion, and mine also) there are bands who play the fast/brutal/tech card FAR better (and less recyclable-ly, for lack of a better word), so really their entire vision is pretty pointless since they lack general memorability and yadda yadda.

Yes, it is about songwriting, and recycling old Morbid Angel riffs with overfast drumming and a generic vocal approach does not really help convince me that the band has par songwriting.
