There is plenty of music that is a lot faster technical brutal and relentless than hate eternal. Death metal bands are never the most fast,etc... regardless if that's what they are striving for so really what's the point in listening to them if that's their musical goal. If I feel like listening to 'very brutal, ultra technical, and non-stop speed' why settle for 30 minutes of hate eternal when a lot of bands surpase them in that intent that could be listened too.

He's trying to say that the entire reason Hate Eternal exists is basically to be ridiculous, fast death metal. However, he (and I) feel(s) that there are BETTER bands playing the ridiculous, fast death metal card, and they have better songwriting anyway, so why listen to HE.

I saw them live and that was the 2nd time I've been embarassed to claim I'm a metalhead (first was Nile live). Every song sounded just like the last one...nothing but boring blastbeats with the screamer's head turning purple because he was just non stop Raar'ing. It was so pitiful it was funny. They may have been holding guitars, but what they were playing was not music.

Maybe on CD they come across a bit better, but live that style of music is just horrible.

Nobody is saying their only intent is to listen to the 'heaviest,fastest' bands anywhere. Two people are saying it seems hate eternal since they are fast always the bands intent is probably being fast. I can think of bands much faster that would be a much better listen. When I listen to a band doing something whatever style listen too the ones that pull off a style or intent the best because what would be the point in not. If I'm in the mood to listen to something really fast i'm going to want to listen to the fastest band that I also feel is musically tasteful also. If I want to listen to melodic music i'm going to find the band that does it better than others attempting the samestyle, the band that was the original, the band that has their own sound. Hopefully you get my point. Hate Eternal is nothing more than a new school B rated death metal band imo.

Do you see everything in such black and white terms? Who cares if they're not the fastest or most brutal? They still write enjoyable music that meets their goals. I listen to various technical and brutal DM bands, even ones that are inferior than others to expose myself to a broader range of musicians who have their own take and ideas on the genre. Redundancy is evident in every genre that's ever existed. Hate Eternal, just like every other band in their respectful genre, has the right to emphasize or minimize whatever characteristic is common in their field. As long as a band is musically competent -- a standard which the majority of DM bands exceed by far, I don't care if they're not currently the best on the scene.

Generic, blast-o-rama death metal without the basic gumption to write anything resembling a tuneful track. I honestly can't find much of merit in them at all - and after buying two of their cds, new, for £3 each, I still feel ripped off.

This is completely true, but Greys is also right...it's only half the reason I dislike them though; the other half is what I've been saying consistently throughout this thread...

Where did you get them for £3? I don't particularly like Hate Eternal, but for £3 I could learn.

Wow I just realized half of the people on this thread doesn't like Hate Eternal. Well that makes me happy to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't like them. But yea so far only two real metal bands I don't like so far... Galloglass and Hate Eternal.

I actually hate majority of music I've heard(metal or not). Most of the time I rotate about 20 cds total in a year.
