Hey, Got a question for you guys.
I'm looking for "haunting" sounding stuff.
I've tried googling different terms trying to get a lead but... I always get dumbass forum posts thinking haunting means sad?? Someone even said pearl jam, M. Manson and tori amos!
I'm thinking more along the lines of Type O Negatives "Haunted" song(at least the first half of it). Or a good bit of Danzigs songs, Like his "godless" song just after the intro. COWBELLS! lol
I have a good bit of doom/sludge which gets pretty close. Like Graves at Sea, Burning Witch, alter of earth. I think the vocals throw it off from being real "haunting" though. Just dark and brooding. Something that makes you say "damn these guys are going straight to hell" lol. Nothing to fast, I got plenty of death metal/grind and all that.
To me haunting doesn't mean sad or melancholy so Portishead isn't going to cut it lol. I've been around here before, (forgot original login) and remember some pretty knowledgeable guys here.
Any suggestions? I'll take bands, songs whatever you got!
