Me too. Cemical Warfare must be my favorite Slayer track!MURAI said:I've read Sepultura got the riffs from From The Past Comes The Storms from that Chemical Warfare song.
Got to love how evil this EP sounds eh.
That must be one of the reasons I like those early albumsBryant said:Definitely a cool EP but I think Seasons was their masterpiece. I like most Slayer, but some of the older albums get a little monotonous. Almost all of the songs are 100 miles an hour and start sounding similar.

Yea those first 3 albums are the best for me. I never liked the later ones better. I know 98% from the lyrics of "Reign in Blood" from memory.AngelWitch73 said:Great Ep. My alltime favourite SLAYER release is the brilliant "Show No Mercy". That one makes me headbang like a maniac !!
Naaaa, I just think the earlier album are way more hard-core! Thats allAngelWitch73 said:I actually like the later albums quite a bit but for some reason they don´t get the magic that the first 3 had. It is probably the vocals used. In his young times Araya was unique and passionate and maybe even in the later albums of the 80s but once the 90s came he lost something with his voice.
Cool if it's a fast one... but please no more mallcore or hardcore elements thrown in itKerry King has asured several interviewers that there's not a slow song on their new album.
Araya announced something similar at the time of the release of Divine Intervention. By far their weakest album in my opinion and therefore the reason for me not to burst into tears of joy! We'll see, I say. Judging from this thread Slayer seems to be a pretty diverse subject. Personally I like all of their releases so far and even do think that they became better and better again with their stuff put out after DI. Reign In Blood still remains their best work though. And to get back to the topic again: Haunting The Chapel is indeed a strong EP. It shows the band's progression between albums number 1 and 2. Nevertheless I think that it's nothing compared to the mighty Hell Awaits.Hawk said:Kerry King has asured several interviewers that there's not a slow song on their new album. Cal me naieve but I am hoping for an other mindless, fast, SlayFest when the new Slayer comes out.
Will it top RiB? Well, let not get our hopes up.![]()

Yeah right, Divine Intevention is a good album. It's like Seasons In The Abyss but a few step down. Their weakest is the punk cover one or God Hates Us All or albums around that era.DrillSergeant said:Araya announced something similar at the time of the release of Divine Intervention.
