Have I betrayed metal?

I'm going to submit to the consideration of my peers in UMOS the following case:

I'm a defender of the faith (pretentious little prick :p ), and I have sware never to yield to mallcore or similar. Nevertheless I have The Organization albums and Fight albums.

Hearing them lately have convinced me that I may have follow unknowingly at the time the mallcore path :Puke: . Maybe not as is conceived today but in is proto-form.
Sounds that also can be found in Judas Priest - "Demolition" and Dream Theater - "Train Of Thought". I barely can stand 'Metal Messiah' and I purge some songs from TOT. But now looking back I have The O albums complete and all Fight minus one song ('Blowout In The Radio Room' who sucked and still does).

Looking at the evidence, I ask did I deviate from the metal highway?

What is your verdict about this strange sounding case?

The first Fight album is pretty good, the second is meh. The first one is pretty one dimensional, but for what it is, it rocks. Not a trace of Mallcore to be found on that one. If you're looking for albums that laid the foundations for Mallcore, try Sepultura's Chaos AD and the first Machine Head album.

TOT is a horrible album, so is Demolition.

Chaos AD still has a healthy dose of thrash, but that was all gone by the time "boots, muddy boots" was released...

I'll second that. I really can't understand what made DT make an album only to suck up to acne infested teenagers... :ill:

There's nothing mallcore to be found in the first Fight album IMO, modern sound does not equal mallcore.
I don't consider Chaos AD and Burning My Eyes to be mallcore either. I agree about Roots' case though.

I love my old school vintage Metal that's for sure, but I'm not one of those people calling blasphemy every time they hear a modern sound.
"Good God, listen to this, this is modern, here's the proof that it's crappy mallcore!!"
Tell me that Angel Dust have become mallcore then...
Not liking modern Metal is one (respectable) thing, but calling mallcore everything modern is another.

To me you're not guilty Wyv :p

I didn't say they were, I said they were precoursers. Burning My Eyes because of the hideous half thrash and random breakdowns, and Chaos AD because of the hardcore/tribal influence. With that and the release of the first korn album, the putrid and unsightly acne-ridden beast was unleashed.

I'm soooo oldschool I even don't exactly know what mallcore is....
Well, looking at reactions I really shouldn't care either... :loco:
mmm, the Organization, had one CD and threw it away, well if it's the post Death Angel band you mean... But banning you from the
forum for liking this...don't think so ;)

Yes Wyvern you are guilty now you must go to the gallow's Pole and sing Hallowed Be Thy Name before we throw the switch on you and all you see is darkness and a snap sound hehehe :tickled: .. jkkk... the first Fight album was fine..

Who dare to put Angel Dust and mallcore in the same sentence? :p

I agree Fang, I have become a little paranoid lately (I guess AW73 passed me the virus with TOT ;) ). As long as I don't find any of that in Motorhead or Saxon...

I'm waiting in my cold cell when the bell begins to chime
Reflecting on my past life and it doesn't have much time
Cos at 5 o'clock they take me to the Gallows Pole
The sands of time for me are running low...
