I was worried about that when I grabbed my Mesa cab off craigslist for $300.

But the knife wounds have healed, and it turned out to be a great deal!

I'm having a hard time resisting the urge to hop on hwy70 and go pick this up. I don't really have money to be throwing around, but I need a decent cab and amp (still working on amp). especially since my whole rig is digital and fits on my desk.

$300 w/ gas to drive down and back????? hard time believing its sounding "perfect" with its celestiAn speakers all intact. requested pics and seller only sent a pic of the front.

does somebody with more knowledge than myself care to explain the "280 watts"?? are there 70w v30s and do they sound similar to a true 60w v30?

Apparently they're V30s specially made for Mesa, and are slightly darker - they're the same speakers that are in all Mesa cabs, though, so if you want the Mesa tone all will be well! And the best thing to do is get this guy/girl on the phone before you go over there and make the transaction; it's a really good way to get a reading on the sketch-o-meter

thanks for the info. i requested some more pics. hopefully if its just cosmetic defects, ill pull the trigger and have a new cab (and stab wounds!).

still a little uneasy about a guy who is currently in a band selling his cab for so cheap. that and I wouldn't be able to tell if it sounds a little sub-par b/c i've never really messed around with cabs and such (<- scares me more than stab wounds).

if nothing else i could use a good road trip before college starts back up i guess
