Heaven N Hell (full Album samples)

I give it a 5/10

kinda dissapointing, not bad, just not very catchy or memorable songs except for half of them. But i still have it pre-ordered and shall buy it.

best songs on it imo are

double the pain (best)
follow the tears (heaviest)
rocknroll angel
bible black
fear

so, it sucks and is is memorable but you forked over cash ANYWAY to buy it...man, what a lemming...even lemmings dont pre-order death!

your a fucking moron.

The complete album already has leaked. After three spins I must say is a solid, heavy, well played effort with a tendency more to the doom side than to fast songs like 'Neon Knights', 'Mob Rules or 'I'. But if you like BS with Dio and you like songs like ' After All (the dead)' from "Dehumanizer" you'll like this album. It's not groundbreaking, it's not amazing, it's not an astounding comeback after 17 years but it's a GOOD album and it's a grower.

I've been spinning this since Wednesday and I really like it. It surprises me that the disc leans so much toward epic doom, which is a good thing! A classic moment is the first time Dio sings...you're reading from the BIBLE BLACK, then the rest of the band kicks in with Iommi's crushing riff! :worship: If that's not classic Sabbath, then nothing is!

This album would probably be great...

If the production wasn't so God awful.

The entire album sounds like it was recorded through a North Face winter coat. Where's the treble?

Doom is one thing. But sludge is another. The drums are buried. The cymbals are practically non existence. Even Dio's voice is back too far in most of the tracks.

Even Iommi's riffs are murky.

The riffs are killer. The overall tempo is definitely doom-y. The solos are pretty cool. This is right up my alley.

But, holy shit, Dio, Iommi, and Butler ought to be taken out and flogged for their piss-poor production. I realize high frequencies are the first to go when ears age. But couldn't they have asked somebody with younger ears to listen to this before they pronounced it done?

Dude, I don't think the production is as bad as you're letting on. I've heard much, much worse for sure.

Perhaps production quality is in the ear of the beholder. To me, this is one of the worst-produced albums I've heard in many, many years. Even though I like the songs and the musicianship, I doubt I'll listen to this very often. It makes me wince.

But that's because I like really crisp music (I'm a sucker for anything remastered). I like to hear the cymbals and the fullness of a singer's voice. This album just sounds muffled to me.

So, you're probably right, Brian. It's possible only I think this sounds like shit. Other people, who have different taste in production, might think it's just right.

To each his own.
