I can get 2 pretty big rooms in a youthclub for free. only problem: the ceiling height is only 6,4 feet. does it make any sense to invest money into these rooms?

or 1,90m.Most people will be sitting anyway. I could record the singer at home. Would be a possibility to record drums. It's so tempting because it's for free.

6.4ft is still terrible. That's almost not enough ceiling to walk into the room. I'd say pass. That's worse than a shitty closet.

EDIT: Well if it's for free give it a shot. It's gonna sound shit in there but for free it can't hurt to see what it's got.

*Edit* Fuck that, just got a measuring tape out and yeah, that's low as fuck. If it's free then I guess you can try but I wouldn't invest any money in it.

For mixing it can work, I mix in a room that has a mezzanine and down of it I only have a little less than 2 meters. For drum recording Im not sure...

It can work, but it's nowhere near preferable either dude. You get reflections from the ceiling, and the smaller your ceiling.......well, the worse they are

That's about the height of my garage. It sucks, overheads are REALLY hard to get sounding good and people bump their guitars on beams n stuff all the time. If its your only option you may as well take it, but its worth paying a little more for a bigger room.
