Hell Week(end)

My basement got flooded this friday. so did my car...blech

but before the torrential rains, young son Noah and I went out for a spin to see the sights of east columbus/whitehall.

first stop: beer. does any other state allow beer drivethrus?

then it was off to the site of that bastion of crackheads and ho's, the Bambi, which was closed down and demolished in a frenzy of puritanism. alas only the sign remains.

and then a quick cruise by my favorite bar. gotta love those politically correct alcoholics!

oh man, that sign. it took me a while to figure out the woman was headless.

so what prompted this picture spree with your son?

well we usually go out on payday and do the family shopping...I had been thinking of taking a few pics lately and finally got off my butt. I wanted to immortalize the Bambi before someone takes down the sign.
the similar hotel across the street was also torn down. that was the Robert E. Lee. alas the sign went along with the cribs.

I think a lot of states have drive thru liquor stores. I know Colorado is one of them.

the more liberal the state, the less likely there's gonna be drive-thru liquor stores. at least, that's what I've found.

CA has none.

Never seen one in MA or VT...or CT, or NY....or SL or BF.

None in Wisconsin but I think MI might have them. Not sure aboot Little Coke though.

with the mention of torrential rains, i thought the kid's name was a fake at first.

and i believe both missouri and arkansas have drive thru liquor stores. missouri has them in the south, but not around st. louis. and arkansas has them in the same strip malls as "Gun and Loan" places so you can borrow money, buy some beer and a gun all in one convenient spot.

Texas used to have combination gun and liquor stores. Half and half. They were called "Texas Stores".

the state of Louisiana has drive-thru liquor stores where you can order daquiris at the window and drink them as you drive!
