So I want to buy some new recording gear.

A new soundcard and a pair of studiomonitors.

The pricerange for the soundcard is about 100 - 150 euro. It's ment for recording and listening to music, no gaming etc.... I just want to plug my boss gt-8, podxt and the monitors into the soundcard, nothing else.

Now the studiomonitors. The max price I can pay for a pair of monitors is about 300 - 400 euro. I really don't know anything about monitors. It's ment for home recording, so I don't want any big ones.

So what do ya'll think? Inform me please because I know you guys know more about this than I do.

Thanks.

I've got an old-ish set of Tannoy Active monitors I love (Reveal 5's). The only downside is the lack of a hardware volume knob (I use an M-patch passive volume control between my Delta 1010lt and the Tannoys) but they're reliable and do the business.

I also have a set of active Yamaha MSP 5's stashed in my folks basement back in Australia. I didn't like these as much as the Tannoys, but they're not a bad budget option and are cheaper than the new Tannoy actives.
