help me out please. violin stuff

I can't download that song, but maybe I can give you some recommendations:
Piano work:
Teddy Wilson's version of "'Round midnight" is clearly the best "piano song" I know of! A truly fantastic song IMO! I don't know if you would like it though, it's jazz. Oscar Peterson's "Wheatland" comes in as the second best jazz song I've ever heard! Actually it's also a bit fantastic!
John Barry's "Arthusa" & "Full moon domanin - beauty is a beast" from the "King Kong" score ('76) have some spooky piano stuff. Although it doesn't have piano in it "Sacrifice - hail to the king" is pretty spooky as well! The entire score for his "Lion in winter" (from '68) is also a bit spooky. The movie is set in 1183, so the score is very medieval sounding. It's also his best score IMO! His score to "The last valley" is kind of similar and are also among his best! If you like harpsichord, then check out Camerata Mediolanense's "DII DXIX" from their "Inferno II" ep. It's some medieval Italian ambient stuff with, as I said, harpsichord and synth. This is also pretty new, so if you have a prejudice that says that old = old crap, then this might suit you (although I prefer John Barry's work at ANY time)!

Strings stuff:
Well, the rest of John Barry's work usually has some strings and I have around 30 LP's & 10 cd's by him. It's not that dark or spooky though, but great nonetheless IMO! He started scoring films around 1960 and he made 10 soundtracks to the James Bond movies. Around 1976 he started on his "romantic" period, which was a bit different from the Bond music that usually was kind of actiondriven. His romantic scores is usually strings and horns and no drums, guitars and all that other stuff that the Bond scores had. His best romantic score IMO is "Until september" and "He catches her" from it is a superb track IMO! Sends shivers down my spine! "Petulia" from '68 is also among his best scores and has some great strings! It's kind of jazzy and took me a while to get into it, but now I think it's great!
The song "Promentory" from "The last of the Mohicans" soundtrack is also superb IMO. I don't really know if it's strings that are the driving force of this song (although it also has strings), it sounds more like some kind of native string instrument.
Another great soundtrack (from 2002 actually) is "Talk to her" ("Habla con ella" in Spanish) by Alberto Iglesias. It's also pretty sad (which means good to me). I also have 4 of his other scores, but haven't mp3'ed them (yet).
I have the 7" "auszuge aus Weiland" by Empyrium and it also has some good string work.
There's also one song that I have to recommend and it's of course "Summertime". The best version I've heard (by Ray Conniff) doesn't have strings as far as I recall, but the version by Bob Tracy und sein grosses orchester do and it's the second best version of the song IMO! Bill Withers' "Ain't no sunshine" also has strings and is a fantastic song IMO!
All of the stuff I've recommended I have mp3'ed from my records, so you can find it at Kazaa!
I guess I'll stop now!

Check out "Black God" by My Dying Bride, off of Turn Loose the Swans. An incredibly beautiful song with the vibe you're looking for. The lead track on that album, "Sear Me", also mixes piano and violin.

Celestial Season's "Vienna" from Solar Lovers mixes some piano and string instruments. It's a more upbeat song (I think it might be a cover).
