As far as vocals were always concerned I was one to take the Sneap approach where less is more. Most of his vocal mixes, at least to me, sound a bit rougher and therefore very fresh and pleasing to the ear. I had taken that approach for a number of project with a good amount of success. Recently however, I've begun to stride for something very polished and one can say "over-produced". I have been admiring the Threat Signal's "Under Reprisal" vocal mixing style and wondering if anyone can shed some light to what is done to achieve such a sound.
