This is a very general question but I figured this was the best spot to ask it. Does anyone have advice about how to write/play more like Thomas Miller (The bassist) especially like the stuff on Divine Wings. Just reading through some of those tabs makes me wonder how someone writes such technical riffs. 
Here are some questions to get you started, (Ugh, I feel like my English teacher ):
What kind of fills does he do?
What types of scales does he use most often?
How are his solos constructed?
What gear does he use?
What style of bass playing would you classify Miller ( ex. uses drone strings alot etc.)
Or anything else you feel like typin is cool.
