I´m thinking of buying the Acer 5950G for my mobile recording rig but can´t find any info about the chipset of the firewire port. Anyone happen to have the laptop in question & could check it out for me? Or does anyone know where to get this info? I´d be extremely grateful for help!
I´ve tried Acer´s support (Finland) and they didn´t know the chipset...they then forwarded me to the spare parts department and they have not answered to my questions. Also no info on Acer website. Even the local laptop dealers didn´t know where to find this info. This is really starting to piss me off cause I need to buy the laptop pretty soon for my upcoming projects and I´d like to make sure the laptop I´m buying has a Texas Instrument chipset firewire port.
