HELP , palm muted open B String problem .

the problem i find with the 7321 (i own one) is that you have to set the action so high to get the low b to stop buzzing (hitting the frets) and it is a bitch to get it to stay in tune.
you need new tuners. the stock ones are crap.I found that folding the styrofoam that you get for wrapping the battery with emgs, and sliding it under the strings on the headstock above the nut helps. Ibanez guitars dont have much angle on the headstock, this helps that.
also, when changing strings, rub pencil led in the cracks on the nut before you put the string through it. helps lube up the crack! lol

even after doing this, I`m still not really happy with the clarity of the low b string. My old watson 7 string sounds and plays much better than the 7321.

Have you tried messing with the truss rod? If the B string is buzzing when it's open (or fretted under the 7th fret or so) then it's probably a truss rod issue rather than string height at the bridge! Try loosening it like half a turn (you may need to lower the bridge as a result)

Well the things is , there is no buzzing at all , its set up quite well and the action is perfect to me . I dont know whats wrong :/
Do you hear it on the clip right ?

Actually, I didn't listen to the clip until now - doesn't sound that bad to me, honestly, just sounds like a harmonic overtone from the pick attack. However, what pickup do you have in there? Cuz I know a lot of people were complaining about similar problems with EMG 707's...

i`ve messed with the truss rod. even took it into a music shop to have it adjusted "professionally". It is much better now, but in comparison to my other 7 string, the action is nowhere near where i would like it!

the stock pups are crappy passives made by dimarzio i believe (the wires are the same colors and it sounds like a cheap version of the tone zone) . I put a SD invader in, and it sounds pretty bitchin!

after listening to the clip, it sounds like the p-ups are causing an annoying harmonic overtone of the pick attack.

I replaced the pickup with a dimarzio blaze a couple of months ago, the pickup change was only for tonal improvment, but the problem is still the same with both pickups ...................

Metaltastic : "overtone from the pick attack" is exactly how i would described it
