hi. i always record my guitars with this chain:
esp eclipse -> firebox instrument input.

i saw a thread some weeks ago where "Sean in Silence" tested a DI recorded with/without DI box. difference was big.

i am searching for a good (no expensive) DI box (100-120 euros) and i saw these two:
- Radial PRO 48 active box
- BSS AR 133

what di box do you recommend to me?

If you want a great DI under 70$, and know how to put together a schematic, the Bo Hansen DI is a great build. Said to be similar to the Countryman, perhaps even more transparent.

The Pro48 you're asking about is basically a cheaper version of the J48 from what I've heard (fewer features). I can't really comment on it, but if you're willing to spend the extra bucks, the J48 is excellent. I've seen a ridiculous increase in quality compared to my instrument inputs.

I have been using this DI Box:

Quiet, 1M Ohm impedance... excellent for recording guitars. Inside it does have a TL071 in there, perfectly fine for this application.

It is also built like a tank and you can attach multiple ones together.

Best bang for the buck DI out there. I am not sure if you can get that brand where you are at. I am also not sure if Audiopile does international shipping.
