Help trying to emulate a snare...

There are 2 hits right at the beginning. Cut them from the cd only

Take the tail only from the second hit and add it to the first. Then take the tail from the first and add it to the second. Its work to get it to sound natural. Thats only 2 hits so you'll have to make more by pitching a few up and down slightly. If you have a program that can change the envelope you can make them longer

Yeah..It sounds it...but not really. You just have think how long you've already spent. In fact I would bet that snare on the cd is multiple samples mixed with the original. One short..one long then gated and played with for quite some time to achieve that amount of fullness. That takes time.
